n hallowed and reverent respect we, the living, dedicate this Battalion history to the sacred memory of our hero dead. They shall have not died in vain, their unselfish devotion to the same cause that inspired our forefathers and to these principals and ideals for the United States of America stands must be maintained. Their supreme sacrifice and heritage for the unborn generations of all mankind must be protected and passed on to posterity.
